Having done a research about the treasures within our cultural heritage and shared these with our partners and communities, we came together to propose ways to protect our cultural heritage and contribute to their sustainable value.

Open the link "Survey and Banners" and "Flyers"  below this text to learn more about each partner school's work on this topic.

Tourism allows our society to share their treasures and it also generates valuable revenue. In certain parts of Europe, a sudden influx of tourists, as well as the influence of the media, has led to a need for measures of preservation.
During the pre- mobility activities students took photos/made drawings of any manifestation of culture, tangible or intangible and were challenged to devise ways to preserve their heritage.
Students had discussions, developed IT surveys for residents of the region/tourists / travel agencies/ developed new regional tours giving the tourists a chance of becoming active in preserving cultural heritage - by learning crafts, learning about materials used for craft products, traditional art and architecture, natural products, folklore collected in previous phases of the project. They also took photos / made video clips, created designs of brochures, panels, and posters illustrating their ideas.
Students were also asked to offer ideas for how to attract tourists to visit them and to get to know their cultural heritage and competed in groups to produce the most innovative ideas.
Then during this student exchange the best works/presentations / ideas were presented and shared. They produced a booklet containing the most innovative and plausible ideas and photo exhibitions.

Excursion to the Douro region where the Porto vineyards are located - the place mostly admired and still well kept as the national jewel for centuries.
Tour to the city historic center admiring beautiful examples of Azulejos ceramic tiles and to the Porto Wine cellars where they learned more about the wine and how important the sea / ocean is for the economy of the region, followed by a boat trip on the Douro River, and a guided walk by the river banks.
Classes in Portuguese to both the students and the teachers were given that a language is a vehicle of culture.

Participants took an outdoor workshop HERCULES - Cultural heritage Centre - students were in the role of tour guides, assistants, lectures.
